Dingle is the most beautiful, energised and bustling town in Ireland. During the peak seasons there is always so much going on here, we have some wonderful festivals here in Dingle and they all pretty much start from the May bank holiday when Feile na Bealtaine kicks off the summer with a bang.. Its a wonderful arts and music festival celebrating the arrival of summer with Storytelling, Song, Music, Dance, Visual Arts & Literature... and the town is absolutely buzzing..
For the next few months its all go in this little town with thousands of tourists visiting Dingle everyday.. By day the streets are full and local businesses are thriving and by night everyone is enjoying the atmosphere in the greatest pubs in the world.. The music,Guinness and craic in this town is the best you will ever endure.
We try and make the most of whatever summer we have in Dingle as we seem to have an ever changing eco system here.. Rain, wind, hail, sun all in the one day..
I love going hiking up Mt Brandon and taking a trip out to the Blasket island on a hot summers day or just relaxing on one of the many amazing beaches we have..
You can isolate yourself here from the massive crowds very quickly which is something i love about Dingle..
I started surfing about 6 years ago and im sorry i didn't start sooner as it was something that changed my life forever.. We are blessed here to be surrounded by some incredible coastline and epic waves "when" the conditions are right.. Its a waiting game but when its on its really on.. I have made some lifelong friends from surfing that im truly grateful for...
My favourite festival of the year in Dingle is the food festival.. It is just wonderful to see all the people enjoying the incredible food on offer in the restaurants, pubs stalls.. everywhere!! Its probably the busiest weekend of the year in Dingle and the atmosphere is so warm and comforting.. Everyone is just in a great mood and its the perfect end to the season..
So now slowly the winter starts creeping in and the evenings get shorter and we get to relax after a wild summer in Dingle..
Its a long hard winter here in Ireland and you really have to knuckle down and get through it..
Personally i love the winters though, the big storms offer some incredible surf and the dramatic skies against the rugged landscape are a photographers dream.. I try my best to get out and about with my camera during these months as much as possible and make the most of the completely isolated areas..
After spending the day outside a quite pint in a pub with a few mates in front of a warm fire is pretty damn good too :)
Well.. Another blog completed and hopefully you enjoyed reading it or at least enjoyed the photos :)
